The Bioinformatics Research Laboratory (BRL) conducts research mainly oriented towards the interpretation of large scale genomic data and the use of computational methods in order to reveal the principles governing the Molecular Basis of Life.

More specifically, we are mainly interested in the elucidation of protein sequence to structure/function relationships using sequence similarity, statistical and machine learning techniques. Evolution of sequences, structures and functions at both the single molecule and the genomic level is both a tool and an aim of our studies.
